Gellert Grindelwald has broken out of prison and is in the process of recruiting new adherents for his cause, which is to place wizards on a higher plane than all other beings that are not magical. The only person who has a chance of stopping him is Albus Dumbledore, the wizard whom he once referred to as his best friend. However, Dumbledore will need to seek assistance from the wizard who had previously stopped Grindelwald, his former student Newt Scamander. Newt Scamander agrees to assist Dumbledore, but he is ignorant of the dangers that lay ahead.
