Hawaii Five-O
Hawaii Five-O is a popular police procedural drama series that airs on CBS in the United States and is produced by Leonard Freeman and CBS Productions. The show, which took place in Hawaii and initially ran from 1968 to 1980 over the course of 12 seasons, is now being broadcast in reruns. Detective Lieutenant Steve McGarrett, the chief of a special state police task team that was based on an actual unit that existed under martial law in the 1940s, was represented on the show by Jack Lord, who also played the role in real life. Morton Stevens' composition of the show's theme song quickly became an enormous hit. A few of the episodes would conclude with McGarrett giving his subordinate the instruction to "Book 'em, Danno!," occasionally including a charge such as "murder one."
