Xavier: Outlaw John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy created the American CGI fantasy comedic television series Angel. Wonder Showzen was also created by Lee and Chatman. PFFR produced the show, which was animated by Cinematico. It premiered on Adult Swim at midnight on November 4, 2007, and on the Adult Swim website on November 1, 2007. Xavier has a nonlinear, confusing plot that follows the funny musings of a pseudo-shaman named Xavier. The show uses black humour, surrealist, and absurdist humor through a hallucinogenic, New Age lens. The show is also graded TV-MA for extreme, bloody violence, strong sexual content, racially/ethnically objectionable language, gruesome depictions, and "too morbid and unintelligible for young viewers" Low ratings led to the cancellation of Xavier: Renegade Angel on April16,2009, after 20 episodes.
