Jackson Slate, a famed treasure hunter, is searching for the legendary Lost Gold Of Cortez off a Caribbean island. In the process of clearing decades of silt, fresh chasms are produced miles beneath the ancient ocean floor. From here, an ancient evil is unleashed, destroying Jackson's boat and killing his crew. Jackson, the sole survivor of the massacre, returns to the scene with Sarah, a marine biologist. They retrieve an egg from the ocean's lowest depths and examine it in the lab. After all, the P-Rex is an ancient prehistoric creature that will not rest until the entire island is destroyed...
