Liz Evans, a hairdresser and head of a youth theatre in Carmarthen, Wales, initiated a campaign to save the Lyric theatre from closure in 1993. They recruited the support of Steven Spielberg and the then-Mayor of Carmarthen, Richard Goodridge (the film switches this position to a local councillor), to secure a special premiere of Jurassic Park.
