When a City Rises
Behind the gas masks worn by Hong Kong's democratic movement are members of a varied range of ages and backgrounds, many of whom are very young. However, they are united in their demand for democracy and freedom. They have the will to fight as well as the courage to do so, and they can see that things are heading in the wrong direction in the small island city, which officially has autonomy under China but is now tightening its grip and demanding that "troublemakers" be put away or silenced. During the violent demonstrations, we encounter a student who is 21 years old, a teenage couple, and a young father.
